​IIMA guest of honour at SIMA 6th India International DRI Summit

6^th India International DRI Summit

It was an honour for IIMA Secretary General John Atherton to share the opening session with distinguished individuals from the Indian iron and steel sector earlier this week at the 6^th India International DRI Summit. In his presentation on Global Trends in DRI and HBI and their Impact on Decarbonisation, John's key message to the sponge iron producers in the meeting was to collaborate with the iron ore miners and steel producers to address the challenges of a transition to green iron production and to better understand the drivers for change.

There was also a session on technological advances in DRI production featuring senior technical experts from IIMA member companies including Midrex Technologies Inc., Danieli and, Primetals Technologies.

The event was organized by SIMA and supported by the Ministry of Steel.
