A unified voice for the ore-based metallics industry

Two steelmakers join IIMA

We welcome steelmakers ROGESA Roheisengesellschaft Saar mbH and Steel Dynamics Inc Columbus as our two newest members.

ROGESA is a joint subsidiary of AG der Dillinger Hüttenwerke, Dillingen, and Saarstahl AG, Völklingen, with each directly or indirectly holding 50% of the company’s shares. ROGESA was founded in 1981 and currently produces up to 4.6 million tons of hot metal each year. A progressive company, Rogesa is taking a new approach to reducing carbon emissions and is for the first time using hydrogen in its two blast furnaces.

Steel Dynamics Inc Columbus is part of Steel Dynamics’ Flat Roll Group, located in Columbus, Mississippi. They are known for their high-tech electric arc furnaces (EAFs) and high-end finishing capabilities and are proud to be the most technologically advanced EAF facility in North America.

These two new members of IIMA increases the representation of steelmaking companies, the primary downstream users of ore-based metallics.
